Times Gazette

The Times-Gazette is a daily newspaper that comes out on weekdays and Saturdays in Hillsboro, Ohio. It is part of Ohio Community Media, which is owned by Versa Capital Management. This publication has been issued daily since October 1, 1973, originally under the name Hillsboro Press Gazette. Its roots go back to a series of weekly newspapers that reported on Hillsboro and Highland County, Ohio, beginning with the Hillsborough Gazette and Highland Advertiser in 1818. In February 1928, the Press Gazette started its distribution after a merger between The Hillsboro Gazette and The People's Press. Later, on March 12, 1996, the Press Gazette combined with the Greenfield Daily Times, Lynchburg News, and Leesburg Citizen to create the Times-Gazette, which officially adopted its name on November 4, 1996. In more recent times, the newspaper was part of Brown Publishing Company from Cincinnati until the company faced bankruptcy and was restructured as Ohio Community Media in 2010. In 2011, the Times-Gazette and the rest of the company were acquired by Versa Capital Management, based in Philadelphia, for an undisclosed amount.
