Story and Photos by Greg Aragon. I love staying at a nice hotel and my kids love playing in water. So when we visited Great Wolf Lodge near Anaheim, California, it was a match made in theme park heaven. On one side, the giant lodge features a 105,000-square-feet indoor water park, packed with exciting tube slides, play structures, pools and more. On the other side, there is a modern hotel, gourmet restaurants, gift shops, and arcade games. Great Wolf Lodge is fun for the whole family.

The luxurious 30-room Villa Porta, part of an expansive 200-year-old complex with multiple boat docks, was nestled against the hills near the tiny village of Colmegna, a few miles from the Swiss border.

Bahia Resort is a paradise on Mission Bay. To some, paradise is a memorable dinner overlooking a moonlit bay. To others it is lounging with your toes in the sand or listening to boats bob in the water from a luxurious suite. To me it’s all of the above, and more, which is why I love Bahia Resort Hotel (www.bahiahotel.com)on San Diego’s majestic Mission Bay.
