The channel is based in Silver Spring, Maryland, and its content is aimed at African American adults, featuring a diverse range of original lifestyle shows, entertainment series, documentaries, films, music performances, and reruns of popular sitcoms from the 1970s to the 2000s. As of February 2015, TV One reaches around 57 million households that subscribe to pay television, which accounts for 48.9% of homes with at least one TV in the country.
