    The American Lung Association's 2025 "State of the Air" report names the Cincinnati metro area as the 14th worst in the nation for year-round particle pollution. That's a move up the list from 22nd last year. The report looks at air quality data from 2021 to 2023. "For folks in the Cincinnati metro area, the number of unhealthy ozone days per year is almost seven, and last year was four-and-a-half," says Luke Boucher, assistant VP for state public policy.

    The lake at Winton Woods will look pretty different late this summer. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to let a lot of water out of the lake in order to make repairs to the dam and control tower. Project Manager Jeff Esterle tells WVXU a wall of the dam framing the water intake area has some damaged concrete that needs to be removed and the wall repaired. The intake screen area also needs concrete repairs. The Corps will lower the lake by at least 8 feet. "It's going to look really low.
