Urban One

Urban One, Inc. (previously known as Radio One) is a media company located in Silver Spring, Maryland. Established in 1980 by Cathy Hughes, Urban One focuses on media outlets that cater to African American audiences. It holds the title of the largest broadcasting company owned by African Americans in the U.S., managing 55 radio stations. The company also has a majority stake in Reach Media, along with its digital division Interactive One, and operates the cable network TV One.
