Wayves Magazine

Wayves is a self-sustaining publication created by a non-profit group. Its purpose is to keep the LGBTQ+ community in Atlantic Canada—lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender individuals—updated on local events and initiatives. Additionally, it aims to highlight and encourage these efforts. We welcome submissions from writers from all backgrounds and locations.

As AinZ Kendrick (they/them) steps into their role as Executive Director of the PEI Transgender Network, they continue the work of those before them, building on the foundation laid by fierce and fearless leaders.

    Queer PEI musician Joce Reyome has won the Solo/Duo division of the International Blues Challenge held in Memphis, Tennessee January 7th to 11th, 2025.  
“It feels like a surreal experience,” says Reyome. “Until fairly recently, I didn’t understand the blues and how it related to me! And retrospectively I’m kind of slapping my forehead saying “this runs in everything you do, ya silly goose”. As a performer, people ask me about the rasp in my voice and the stage presence I have.

    Glenn Massad is a professional storyteller. After striking out on his own to form the eponymous Glenn Massad Communications, the public relations specialist joined the CGLCC — Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce —  to connect with queer-led businesses from coast to coast. As a business owner and consultant, Massad’s long résumé reveals a certain elasticity; he’s managed talent in Los Angeles, done media relations in Yellowknife, and fundraised in Halifax.
