KU spokesperson Daniel Lowry says the utility is having no problems meeting capacity as its customers use more power. “The system is performing like it should. Dr. Ashley Keith of Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in Versailles said many people don’t realize dogs and cats don’t sweat. Instead, they shed heat by panting and through their paw pads, which isn’t as efficient. He said some types of dogs are especially prone to heat-related illnesses and death.
