OSHKOSH, Wis-The state's largest teachers union is critical of the Oshkosh Area School District's suspension of the former Dean of Students at Vel Phillips Middle School. Christopher Willems was initially placed on suspension for five days after an incident where he shoved a 13-year old boy up against a wall at the school back in January. Willems also called in the schools police resource officer, who pinned the boy to the floor and handcuffed him.

OSHKOSH, Wis-Contractors that worked on an apartment building in Oshkosh's Sawdust District are seeking more than a million dollars in unpaid invoices for its construction. WHBY News has found nine companies have filed construction liens against MK Lofts L-L-C in Winnebago County Court totaling $1.06-million. Another contractor has filed a civil lawsuit as well.
Gary Day extradited to Wisconsin

BEAVER DAM, WI - The man arrested in the case of a missing, pregnant teenage girl from Beaver Dam is now in the custody of Wisconsin law enforcement. WISN TV says 40-year-old Gary Day of Arkansas was extradited from Nebraska to Wisconsin Wednesday. He was arrested earlier this month at an Omaha-area truck stop following a 9-1-1 call from a citizen. Police arrived and also found Sophia Franklin, who's pregnant with Day's child. Both disappeared in February from Franklin's home in Beaver Dam.
Green Bay woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Criminal charges are filed against a Green Bay woman accused of killing her boyfriend. Tonia Piontek, 45, faces one count of first-degree intentional homicide in Brown County Court. According to the criminal complaint, Piontek stabbed the 41-year-old man to death during an argument at a home in the 1300 block of Smith Street on Sunday. She was taken into custody by police at the scene. Piontek faces life in prison if convicted. [WBAY-TV]

Nearby Black Creek Elementary School has been placed on lockdown. Officials say there is no direct threat against the school itself. People are asked to stay away from that area.
Winnebago County Bitcoin ATMs fitted with scam warning signs

OSHKOSH, Wis-Bitcoin automated teller machines will feature warning signs in Winnebago County. Local law enforcement are working together to post information on the signs of scams on those ATMs.The departments say scammers are instructing victims to deposit cash into the machines and then scan a Q-R code allowing the criminal to deposit the crypto-currency in a digital wallet in a nearly untraceable way. Many of the victims are not familiar with how Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies work.
