WHJY is a commercial radio station located in Providence, Rhode Island, owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. It operates on a frequency of 94.1 MHz (Channel 231) and has been playing classic and mainstream rock music since it first went on air on September 4, 1981. The station's broadcast facility, shared with its sister stations, is situated at 75 Oxford Street, conveniently located just west of Interstate 95 in Providence. The transmitter is positioned at 115 Eastern Avenue in East Providence. The studio, often playfully referred to by DJs as "the Ghetto Penthouse," is on the northeast corner of the building, facing I-95. Additionally, WHJY offers HD Radio services, with the HD2 channel featuring iHeartMedia's "The Alternative Project."

The widow of Jeff Beck, Sandra, has parted with 128 of his guitars, amps, and other equipment from her late husband's legendary music career. The auction was held Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, at Christie's in London. The auction raked in $10.8 million, which is eight times the pre-sale estimate. The biggest selling item was a 1954 Gibson Les Paul that went for $1.3 million. It was pictured on the cover of his 1975 "Blow By Blow" album and had a pre-auction estimate of $369,000 to $615,000.
