WHSN-FM (Bangor, ME)

WHSN (89.3 FM) is a radio station that plays alternative rock music. It is based in Bangor, Maine, and serves the surrounding area. The station is owned by Husson University and is operated by students from the New England School of Communications, which is located on the same campus. WHSN was managed by Husson University when it first launched until the mid-1980s, when NESCom relocated from its original site to the Husson campus. In 2006, the station enhanced its broadcasting capabilities by increasing its power from 140 watts to 3,000 watts and relocating its transmitter to a spot behind the NESCom building. In July 2016, WHSN earned recognition as a finalist for a Marconi Award for Non-Commercial Station of the Year.

    Up and coming Bangor area band Widows Club have been writing music and playing shows throughout New England for years (originally starting under the name Moxxy). Now the 6 piece has released Morphine, the first single from an upcoming full-length album. Accompanying the 90s-influenced single is an acoustic demo of the track.     Motion City Soundtrack has announced their first new album since 2015 Panic Stations. The new album, titled The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World will be released September 19th via Epitaph Records. Along with the announcement, the band has shared the first single, She Is Afraid.
