Some music is made for summertime drives with the windows down, like the latest from indie pop group Lucius. The quartet just released their self titled album in May and they’re already following it up with the Joyride EP. Up and coming Bangor area band Widows Club have been writing music and playing shows throughout New England for years (originally starting under the name Moxxy). Now the 6 piece has released Morphine, the first single from an upcoming full-length album. Accompanying the 90s-influenced single is an acoustic demo of the track. Morphine artwork by Beck O’ConnorWidows Club will perform Saturday at the Old Town Theatre along with another great Bangor area band, And Then Some.

Motion City Soundtrack has announced their first new album since 2015 Panic Stations. The new album, titled The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World will be released September 19th via Epitaph Records. Along with the announcement, the band has shared the first single, She Is Afraid. Jack White’s track Archbishop Harold Holmes now has an electrifying video with John C. Reilly starring as the song’s title character. Filmed at a church in Los Angeles, the video also includes appearances by ensemble Sami Perez of Cherry Glazer, model/face of YSL Beauty and frontwoman of the Paranoyds Staz Lindes, Misha Lindes of Sadgirl, Starcrawler’s Arrow de Wilde and more. Jack White will headline the 2nd night of Back Cove Music & Arts Festival Sunday, August 3rd in Portland.
