WJIM-AM (Lansing, MI)
WJIM (1240 AM) is a radio station based in Lansing, Michigan, that features a news-talk format. The station first went on air in 1934 at 1210 kHz, operating with 250 watts during the day and 100 watts at night. It was launched by Harold Gross and his company, Gross Telecasting. According to local stories, Gross acquired the license—Lansing's oldest continuously operating commercial license—through a card game. He named the station after his son, Jim, who served as the general manager from the 1960s until the station was sold to Liggett Communications in 1985. WJIM is notable for being Lansing's second radio station, following the closure of WREO in 1927. In 1941, the station transitioned to 1240 kHz with a power of 250 watts, in compliance with the North American Radio Broadcasting Agreement. Today, WJIM is owned by Townsquare Media and acts as the flagship station for the Michigan Talk Network.

For example: Remember a few years ago when people said "On fleek?" Don't get me started on the term "Cap."2. A word or phrase that has been overused by the media like National News outlets.

Crossing Michigan's Mackinac Bridge any time of the year can be nerve-wracking, especially if you're driving in the grated lane (if you know, you know). However, making the journey across the Mighty Mac during the winter or early spring presents a unique danger beyond white-out and/or windy conditions that shut down the crossing from time to time—huge, heavy chunks of ice that are the size of a truck falling from its towers.
