Raymond was born Sunday, September 19, 1948, in Noblesville, Indiana, son of the late Bertie and Barbara McDole Camp. He served his country as a United States Marine in the Vietnam War.

Two people were taken to the hospital following a four-vehicle collision on Highway 127 near the Cumberland Parkway just before noon today. According to reports, a 2019 Jeep Wrangler operated by Ronda Salyer of Jamestown stopped abruptly behind a 2020 Toyota Tacoma driven by Terry Collett Jr. of Mount Washington, who was backed up from the stoplight at 127 and Maple Street. A 2024 GMC Sierra, driven by Charles Fletcher of Russell Springs, was unable to stop in time and struck Salyer’s vehicle.

The Laker Boys Tennis team fell to South Warren in the semi-finals of the regional tournament last night. Individual regionals will start on Friday at Bowling Green High School. The Laker Baseball team had a big night against Casey County on Tuesday, defeating the Rebels 21-0. Jayce Scaggs and Walker Stephens led the Lakers in RBIs with three apiece.

Fire crews were called out Tuesday morning to a house fire on Decatur Road in Russell Springs. Firefighters with the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call at 345 Decatur Road, where a mobile home was already on fire when they arrived. A total of 14 volunteer firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and were able to keep it from spreading to nearby buildings. They remained on scene for about 1 hour and 35 minutes. South Kentucky RECC also assisted at the scene.
