Christine Rebout from the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau sat down with WMTV’s Mark McPherson Thursday in studio to talk about some of them. Highlights include: outdoor Macbeth performances, a vintage car show, a rodeo in Edgerton and the Rock County 4-H fair. MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Multiple agencies responded to a residential fire near Mount Horeb Thursday evening. Officials said crews responded to a home in the 8000 block of Davis Street just before 7 p.m. near the Town of Springdale. Mount Horeb Police and Mount Horeb Fire Departments were both on scene as of 8 p.m. Thursday. An alert from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation around 7:30 p.m. indicated WIS 92 was closed in both directions from County U to County G north due to a fire.

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - A new set of murals, all inspired by renowned artist Georgia O’Keeffe, was unveiled in Sun Prairie Thursday evening. Georgia O’Keeffe was born and grew up in Sun Prairie. Muralist and founder of Urban Art Bloom Inc., Lena Ugren, came up with the idea for the mural project recognizing O’Keeffe’s connections to the city. “I felt like Sun Prairie should be a first stop for Georgia O’Keeffe enthusiasts to come when they research her life,” said Ugren.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A new mobile vision van is set to launch this fall in Madison, aiming to bridge the gap in eye care for children who struggle to access necessary treatment and glasses. Heidi Lucarelli, a longtime school nurse and board member of Combat Blindness International, has seen the need firsthand. “Our kids get screened as preschoolers, in kindergarten, then 3rd, 5th, and 8th grade—but in between, some kids get missed,” Lucarelli said.
