I’ve said before that I love when we’re all surprisingly in sync with our monthly reads, and wow is everyone in sync this month – except for me! Below is mostly one comic that seems to have taken WWAC’s casual reading by storm, plus two very conceptually and aesthetically different recommendations. I think it’s a very funny way to kick off 2025’s WWACommendations, and lead us into a winter break.

Happy holidays, VIZ fans! 2024 may be coming to a close, but I will probably continue to do this pubwatch until the heat death of the universe or I run out of spare time. Whichever comes first! This month we’re getting warm and cozy with some fluffy romance manga, as well as volume 3 of the less-than-cozy dystopian science fiction Fool Night.

We’ve got a wide array of fantasy and romance for you all this time around, with an epic historical tearjerker and a thoughtful piece of progressive nonfiction to round things out!Emily: A new edition of Wheel of the Infinite by Martha Wells came out November 19th from Tor, and it may now be my favorite of her fantasy novels. I always like it when Martha Wells’s protagonists have Had Enough of Your Shit, which is why I love the Murderbot Diaries so very much.
