    Webuild’s US subsidiary Lane Construction is carrying is carrying out a $152 million package of works in South Carolina (SC) that will redevelop a major highway interchange. The firm was awarded the contract in late 2024 by South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and is now working on the project to redevelop the key interchange on the I-77. The project will provide direct access to the planned manufacturing facility that will produce electric vehicles and employ up to 4,000 people.

The new cable-stayed bridge will cost up to $1.9 billion and measure around 3.2km in total, providing a safer crossing for drivers than the earlier bridge spanning the Patapsco River.
