    Preparatory work is commencing for the $3.5 billion bypass project around Peru’s capital, Lima. Clearance work along part of the route is underway following approval from the Municipality of Independencia. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has commenced the clearing up of the section in the vicinity of the Víctor Haya de la Torre area. The new ring road around Lima will measure 35km in length. This will connect the 200 Millas Oval in Callao and Circunvalación Avenue in San Luis.

    Georgia’s capital could benefit from $500 million of funding for a new bypass, if discussions over funding for the project prove fruitful. The Georgian Government has been in discussions over the necessary funding. The 50km bypass project will face challenges and would feature 18 bridges as well as four tunnel sections. The Tbilisi Bypass Toll Road (TBTR) project will be managed as a PPP. The route runs from Mtskheta through tunnels to the Tbilisi Sea, Avchala, Gldani and Tbilisi Lilo to Rustavi.

    Procurement for roads maintenance work worth up to £3 billion in the UK county of Essex is now underway. A contractor will be appointed to maintain and improve the road network in Essex as well as related assets from 1 April 2027. The new contract will run for seven years, ending on 31 March 2034. It is valued at £2.5 billion excluding VAT, or £3 billion including VAT. The local authority plans to replace its current Highways Strategic Transformation Contract, which expires on 31 March 2027.

Around 80% of the firm’s asphalt plant solutions are now exported, with Europe being a key target. The firm has supplied plants to Spain and most recently to the UK, with the latter in the process of being commissioned. The company is also planning to open new offices in Europe, which will also offer sales and service facilities for its customers in this market.
