Vibe has characterized the site as a "remnant of the Geocities generation." It often showcases shocking videos, music clips, and various other content aimed primarily at younger audiences. O'Denat, who referred to himself as a "Haitian ghetto nerd," described WorldStarHipHop as the "CNN of the ghetto."
