President Trump, a longtime critic of wind energy, issued a moratorium on new development of offshore wind projects, one of his first executive orders upon returning to the White House.

Mishawaka, county at odds over serving Microsoft site with water

Mishawaka and St. Joseph County officials have worked together to entice Microsoft to build a data center in Granger, but they’re now in a race against each other to provide water and sewer to the site. The city of Mishawaka has spent over $40 million to develop its newest wellfield north of Douglas Road under Juday Creek Golf Course. They did it to serve growth in the city’s north side, but also anticipating development along the Capital Avenue corridor.

Fearing recruiters will come to lure players away with money and promises, Michigan State has cancelled its spring game. Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma and Nebraska are among the others that have scrapped the spring tradition.
City seeks $350,000 to seal State Theater before marketing it

After voting in February to buy the historic but long neglected State Theater, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission will consider its first big expenditure on the project. The Mayor James Mueller administration has said it’s not interested in taking on the expense of renovating the 1907 theater. It hopes a buyer will do that. But the city says it does need to spend some money up front before it can market the building.

Ball State economist Michael Hicks says about a third of the parts used to make cars and RVs in the U.S. are imported, so making them will now cost more because of retaliatory tariffs.
