FLORIDA - Governor Ron DeSantis signed “Gage’s Law,” which will require hospitals to test for fentanyl when treating patients for suspected overdoses or poisonings, as Florida teaks a new step in its battle against the opioid crisis. CLEARWATER -- State Fish and Wildlife officers say the driver of a boat that crashed into a ferry Sunday evening is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed so far. Major Evan Laskowski with the State Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says they're working with prosecutors, to determine whether the crash was hit and run. Officials say the driver of the boat submitted to a blood alcohol test and passed. A male passenger on the ferry boat was killed and ten others injured.

A toddler's life was saved in Jupiter. Police say the one-year-old was found unconscious in a backyard pool on Sunday. Two police officers performed CPR until Fire Rescue arrived and provided medical attention. The child regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital. The Jupiter Police Department wrote on social media that they are grateful to the officers who "utilized their training and experience to perform life-saving measures, resulting in the life of a small child being saved."
