    Nine baseball players from the WPIAL have been selected to play in the inaugural Pennsylvania High School All-Star Game, sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association. The PSBCA was formed a year ago, and the All-Star Game was one of their initiatives. The game will have an East-West format and will be played June 22 at Penn State’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, also the site of the PIAA championships this Thursday and Friday.

Coach Pat Narduzzi fired off his Class of 2026 commitment signal on X not once, not twice, but four times on Friday afternoon. WPIAL defensive tackle Lincoln Hoke took to his own social media to announce he had committed to the Panthers.

    Pitt volleyball had been teasing fans with schedule releases throughout the offseason — Nebraska to start the season, a tournament in Pittsburgh over Labor Day weekend, a trip to Kentucky in September. The wait for the full schedule was finally over on Wednesday, when the four-time Final Four squad announced its 30-game schedule for the 2025 season. The Panthers are not holding back with the level of difficulty this season as they hunt for the elusive NCAA championship.

    When Riveters SC coach Scott Gibson began the arduous task of building the roster for the first women’s USL squad in Pittsburgh, he knew he needed a core group of players. Gibson serves as director of the Riverhounds Academy. He’s helped develop more than 100 athletes into college soccer players, including some at top programs such as North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt and more. He was an obvious choice for the head coaching job.
