Nine baseball players from the WPIAL have been selected to play in the inaugural Pennsylvania High School All-Star Game, sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association. The PSBCA was formed a year ago, and the All-Star Game was one of their initiatives. The game will have an East-West format and will be played June 22 at Penn State’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, also the site of the PIAA championships this Thursday and Friday.

Two more “Pat Signals” have been claimed by a pair of 2026 prospects — cornerback Kentrail McCrae and defensive end Reston Lehman. The Florida native, McCrae and Peters Township star, Lehman both announced on Saturday afternoon that they had picked Pitt while on an official visit this weekend as the newest recruiting class balloons. Six players gave Pat Narduzzi and company their verbal commitments on Friday night and now four more have followed on Saturday afternoon.

13 year old Julia Espinosa and her family had moved all over the United States, from Florida to Seattle and now to Pittsburgh — wherever it was possible for her to get the kind of care she needed. During her childhood, Espinosa has gone through transplants of her liver, bowels and pancreas. None of those procedures were smooth and the ongoing recovery isn’t short or easy. It has taken the Espinosa family across the country and back and demanded uncommon strength.
