India, May 12 -- Nearly four weeks after the Haryana Water Resources Authority (HWRA) formed a three-member committee to inspect 59 real estate developers, manufacturers and ready-mix concrete plants for illegally extracting groundwater, the committee has yet to conduct its inspection. Formed on April 16, the committee comprises Pankaj Mahla, chief hydrologist, HWRA, the district town planning department's enforcement officer, and regional officer of the Haryana pollution control board.

India, May 12 -- The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has finalised a plan to install CCTV cameras at 62 locations in the "congested" Sadar Bazar area, which sees thousands of daily visitors, officials said. All the CCTVs will be all linked to the authority's command and control centre in Sector 44, they added.

According to GMDA officials, the surveillance initiative is aimed at preventing crime, improving traffic management, and curbing encroachments in one of the city’s busiest market areas.

The Gurugram metro’s upcoming station on the 1.2km-long Dwarka Expressway spur will be located on the road going from Sector 9 and 9A towards the Dwarka Expressway in sector 101, adjacent to the new underpass from Basai to Sector 102, officials said on Friday. The station will be approximately 140 metres in length and 23 metres in width.
