GRETNA, Lou. (WKRG) – The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued its 2025 Hurricane Season Forecast for the Atlantic Basin. NOAA predicts a busy season with 13-19 named storms to form from June 1 to November 30. Of those named storms 6-10 are expected to become hurricanes with maximum winds over 74 mph. Of those hurricanes, 3-5 storms are expected to reach major hurricane status with maximum sustained winds over 111 mph.

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) – We are set to have a warm and steamy weekend of baseball in Pensacola as your Wahoos close out their home series against the Rocket City Trash Pandas!For Friday’s matchup, it will still be quite warm at the first pitch with temperatures still in the mid-80’s. Through the end of the game, we will only cool slightly into the upper-70’s. Rain chances will stay out of the picture as high pressure remains in place.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – A slow-movng cold front will bring numerous showers and storms to the region Sunday. A few storms will contain severe weather hazards. A cold front that has plagued the Mid-South over the last few days bringing destructive tornadoes, substantial wind gusts, and flooding emergencies is finally getting a push east. Although the system is unlikely produce the kind of weather is produced last week, we cannot rule out isolated severe storms.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – As parts of the Gulf Coast clean up from severe storms this week, we are preparing for another round of rough weather coming Saturday night into Sunday. A deepening trough will move east of the South-Central Plains. At the same time, an area of surface low pressure will move east and northeast out of Texas across the Deep South and the Tennessee Valley. A warm front will lift north through Saturday allowing deep, tropical moisture to move into the region.
