A team of researchers at Åbo Akademi University in Finland made a surprising discovery. They found that Talin-1, a protein primarily known for its role in cell adhesion at the periphery of the cell, can also be located in the cell nucleus, where the genetic material resides. Remarkably, nuclear Talin-1 was shown to influence the expression of genes that regulate cell-to-cell connections.

AbstractAnorexia nervosa (AN) is a severe psychiatric disorder, characterized by restricted eating, fear to gain weight, and a distorted body image. Mu-opioid receptor (MOR) functions as a part of complex opioid system and supports both homeostatic and hedonic control of eating behavior. Thirteen patients with AN and thirteen healthy controls (HC) were included in this study.
