AbstractCoevolutionary cycling in allele frequencies due to negative frequency-dependent selection---sometimes referred to as Red Queen Dynamics---is a key potential outcome of host-parasite coevolution. While many theoretical studies have focused on understanding the consequences of coevolutionary cycling for the evolution of sex and recombination, little is known about the impact of oscillatory coevolutionary dynamics on the evolution of other life history traits.

Keir Starmer has returned from his whirlwind meeting with Donald Trump in Washington DC where the two discussed the hugely consequential matter of a possible Ukrainian peace agreement, a UK-US trade deal and the future of the Chagos Islands. And it seems as though the trip was a partial success for Starmer, with Trump cautiously backing the Chagos plan and suggesting the UK could avoid tariffs, although there was less clarity on security guarantees for Ukraine.
