    Friday was the last day for teachers to be at Independence Elementary School in Liberty Township as a mobile blood drive was set up with Hoxworth Blood Center. It was done to honor one of their own staff members and raise awareness about the crucial need for blood donations this time of year. “It's been two years since John Mattingly, the principal here at Independence Elementary, was diagnosed and battled leukemia and lymphoma.
