Emergency services were called to the scene on Oldham Road at around 4:30pm this afternoon. Police have confirmed the body of a man has been recovered. He's yet to be formally identified. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Today (Sunday 4 May 2025) emergency services responded to reports of a concern for welfare at Rochdale Canal. A search operation took place with emergency services at the scene. "Sadly, the body of a man was recovered from the water.
