    The Home Office is stopping the use of hotels run by one of the largest providers of asylum accommodation. Stay Belvedere Hotels (SBHL) is responsible for providing around a quarter of asylum accommodation operated by the Home Office. The accommodation chain has responsibility for 51 hotels across England and Wales as well as Napier Barracks, a facility in Kent housing people waiting for asylum decisions which is due to close in September.

    Millions of people have been urged to stay at home on Friday as Storm Éowyn is set to bring potentially life-threatening winds to the north and west of the UK. Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland are set to experience the worst disruption, where the Met Office has issued red weather warnings which means there is a danger to life from winds gusting at up to 100mph. Schools will be closed in Northern Ireland and much of central Scotland on Friday, while travel is also expected to be disrupted.

    The Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix show has been postponed until March due to the Los Angeles wildfires, the streaming giant has announced. The lifestyle series, which was filmed in southern California, had been due to premiere on Wednesday. Netflix said it had offered its “full support” to Meghan’s request to delay the release. Wildfires have raged through the California city since Tuesday, killing at least 24 people and forcing hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes.

    Lucy Letby has been interviewed by police in prison under caution as part of ongoing investigations into more baby deaths at two hospitals, Cheshire Constabulary has confirmed. The force said it had "recently" spoken to the former neonatal nurse over deaths and non-fatal collapses at the Countess of Chester Hospital and Liverpool Women’s Hospital. Letby was convicted of the murders of seven babies and the attempted murder of seven more at the Countess of Chester between 2015 and 2016.
