    Accessibility on public transport for disabled people is a "national embarrassment", a senior group of MPs has warned. A report by parliament's cross-party transport select committee found "systematic" failings across all public transport and says "too great a burden is placed on individual disabled people" to hold operators and authorities to account. Disabled-led charity Transport for All is urging the government to act on the report's findings.

    Transport Secretary Louise Haigh has admitted pleading guilty to a criminal offence relating to a police investigation over a mobile phone she claimed was stolen. In a statement, Haigh said she told police she had lost her phone during a mugging on a night out in 2013 but later found it had not been taken. She said it was a "genuine mistake" but had been advised by a lawyer "not to comment" during a police interview. The police then referred the case to the Crown Prosecution Service, she said.

A little walk before late shift today in my local High Street. I decided to practice with my long cane, white stick as @guidedogs Shawn has a lot of work later. Bin day, and an explosion of advertising a boards and street clutter has been, well difficult.
