As reported by the Chronicle, the road was closed for a number of hours after the bus crashed into a wall. Both police and ambulance crews were in attendance.

The clocks above Newcastle's Central Station have broken again - just give months after being repaired for £21,000. Network Rail says specialist teams are investigating with the iconic timepieces not in working order. The Northbound Tyne Tunnel will be closed tonight to allow "essential maintenance work" to be carried out. The operator of the Tyne Tunnel, TT2, released a statement today announcing the closure, saying that there will be a "bi-directional operation" taking place in the Southbound Tunnel.
