Insperial kicked off the opening day of Aircraft Interiors Expo with big industry news: two acquisitions that will further broaden its capabilities in aircraft surface materials. The group has now acquired MGR Foamtex, a UK-based manufacturer specialising in interior soft goods and advanced passenger upholstery systems. This acquisition is intended to further strengthens Insperial’s position in the cabin market and create synergies with its Perrone Leather and Adhetec brands.

UK-based aircraft interior refurbishment specialist, Starling Aerospace, has acquired the assets of former seating manufacturer, Pitch Aircraft Seating Systems, for an undisclosed sum. Starling is now ramping up its factory to begin manufacturing the Pitch PF3000 (triple) and PF2000 (double) economy seat models, which are already certified for the Airbus narrowbody family of aircraft.

Commercial aircraft orders grew by almost two thirds in February 2025 compared to February 2024. 27 narrowbody aircraft were ordered in February 2025, although no widebody aircraft orders were placed. The latest commercial aircraft data from ADS, the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space trade association, further highlights a sustained growth in aircraft deliveries, with 86 delivered in February 2025.

Since February, nine of Lufthansa’s A350-900s have been flying with the new Allegris aircraft interiors, eight of them including the new First Class cabin. According to the airline, nearly half a million passengers in all classes (economy, premium economy, business and first class) have now enjoyed the new Allegris cabins. This year, the airline will begin retrofitting its existing fleet with Allegris cabins, beginning with its 19 Boeing 747-8is.
