China Southern Airlines has appointed international design agency, Tangerine, to design the cabin interiors for its next-generation wide-body and narrow-body flagship aircraft. As part of its ongoing fleet modernisation programme, China Southern Airlines is introducing new A350-900 and A321NX aircraft, which will serve as the carrier’s flagships. Tangerine is designing the interiors of 10 A350-900s and 20 new-generation A321NX aircraft for China Southern.

Mirus Aircraft Seating has had an eventful time at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg this week, launching its Hawk Duo reclining economy-class seat and Falcon long-range economy seat (details below). The UK-based aircraft seat manufacturer had a little something extra lined up though: a first look at Osprey, a concept that could form the basis for its entry into the premium economy sector.

The most innovative ideas flying today and that will shape the future of air travel have been recognised in the Crystal Cabin Award 2025, the world’s leading prize for aircraft cabin technology. The winners were revealed at a gala dinner in Hamburg last night, with winners including Collins Aerospace, Cathay Pacific, Safran Cabin, Diehl Aviation and Tongji University. Cathay Pacific and Diehl Aviation won awards in two categories.
