    KILWINNING Rangers boss Chris Strain says he wants to see “relentless improvement” from his squad as the club prepares to return to training next week. Clubs in the new West of Scotland Football League will be able to resume training from Monday, July 20, provided they meet strict protocol. Last season Kilwinning Rangers were top of the West Region Premiership before the season was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    THE chairman of Ardrossan Winton Rovers says the club’s survival would be at stake if fans are not allowed into games. Pat Breen, admits the club would struggle to pay players’ wages if they failed to receive any income from ticket sales. It comes as teams in the new West of Scotland Football League return to training ahead of a planned start date either at the end of September or beginning of October. However, it is unclear at this stage whether fans will be permitted into grounds.

    ARDROSSAN Winton Rovers boss Stevie Wilson says he hopes the club will be able to play some friendlies early next year. Winton were one of several teams to pull out of this season’s West of Scotland Football League over concerns relating to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Wilson is hopeful that if restrictions are eased in early 2021 and fans are allowed to return in a safe manner then football could return to Winton Park sooner rather than later.
