Of those eight signees, three will be staying in the Capital Region to attend either Siena or UAlbany. Years of hard work, ups and downs, led to this moment as all were celebrated for this feat.

Niskayuna, N.Y. — It's that time of the year again where some of the best athletes from around the Capital Region get to announce where they'll continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Wednesday morning, Niskayuna held their signing day where 16 senior student-athletes put pen to paper. All of the hard work and dedication led to this very moment, being able to say you'll get to play your desired sport in college.

Latham, N.Y. — Two of the top Section II Boy's Lacrosse teams shared the turf on Tuesday night in a four-quarter battle. Niskayuna and Shaker, a potential Class A sectional title preview in a few weeks and this one lived up to the hype. No team from the Capital Region has really given 'Nisky a fight. The Silver Warriors undefeated in league play but Shaker brought the fight to them in the first half, Blue Bison went to the break up 5-2.

Latham, N.Y. — It was a perfect day for some baseball on Tuesday afternoon as CBA and Shaker came together to honor the life and legacy of Casey O'Connor. The late CBA head coach and Shaker High School alum had his #14 jersey retired by the Blue Bison just two weeks after the Brothers dedicated their field in his honor. After the ceremony was held, CBA and Shaker squared off in the first annual Casey O'Connor Memorial Cup game and it certainly lived up to its name.

The UAlbany Men's team with a historic win over Siena 11-9 on Wednesday night, advancing to the next round where they'll take on #1 Cornell on Sunday. Now, it's the UAlbany Women's turn to make some noise in the postseason. The America East champions find themselves back in the NCAA Tournament and gearing up for a Friday afternoon tilt against #7 Yale. Are the Danes underdogs? Yes.

Albany, N.Y. — For the first time in school histories, UAlbany and Siena met up in an NCAA Postseason game. Wednesday night, the Great Danes and Saints Men's Lacrosse teams renewed a cross-town rivalry in the NCAA Tournament Opening Round at Casey Stadium. It was the experience of UAlbany going up against the new kids on the block in Siena. The Saints searching for their first ever NCAA Tournament win whereas Scott Marr and company made their 14th tournament appearance.

Friday night, the new-look Danes competed in their spring game, giving fans the first chance to take a look at the 2025 team under the new leadership of interim head coach Jared Ambrose. With longtime head coach Greg Gattuso stepping away from the program, offensive coordinator Ambrose now gets his chance to run the program.

Latham, N.Y. — It's been a little over a month since the Shaker Boy's Basketball team claimed the Class AAA New York State Title but Tuesday night, the wait was finally over, it was time for a celebration. With players, coaches, friends, family and faculty in attendance at Shaker High School, the Blue Bison were honored as the first boy's basketball team to win a state championship in school history and just the second team altogether to win a state title in school history.
