I did not feel this here in Connecticut, but there was just a 4.1 magnitude earthquake near Portsmouth, NH. That is a pretty large size earthquake, relatively speaking, for the New England area.

This post on Reddit today reveals that there are 3 brand new (and probably more) slogans that are being used at state entrances as "Welcome To Connecticut" signs and slogans. No word yet on the rapper's condition, but rapper Fatman Scoop collapsed this evening while performing in Hamden. Details are still very limited, but the show stopped around 8:35pm. From the town of Hamden's website, this was the billing for the show tonight:Hamden – The Hamden Arts Commission and the Town of Hamden would like to remind the public of tonight’s final concert in the 2024 Hamden Free Summer Concert Series.
Survey claims that Connecticut is the 44th most fun state in America

A new study from WalletHub claims that Connecticut is the 44th most fun state in America. Listen, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that we are #1. Or even in the top 10. But we are not #44. The only 6 states behind us are: Vermont, Arkansas, Rhode Island, Delaware, Mississippi, and West Virginia. We apparently are #43 for entertainment and recreation and #37 for nightlife. This study claims that North Dakota is #29 for nightlife.

According to Oxford's fire chief, personnel are currently searching for two people who were swept into the Little River during this evening's flooding. There is a search ongoing as major flooding has occurred in the Town of Oxford.

Congratulations to Hamden (and Cheshire Academy graduate) Alexis Holmes who has qualified for the semifinals in the 400m preliminary rounds at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. She finished 2nd in the sixth round of the preliminaries with a time of 50.35 seconds; and will race in the semifinals on Wednesday.
