On May 19, severe weather blasted the better part of the Sunflower State leaving damage in numerous towns along the way. With winds of 60-plus miles per hour for 400 or more miles, the night earned its distinction of a derecho. Halstead, Haven, Hutchinson and Kingman (and many more) all saw its city streets littered with debris Sunday night and Monday morning’s sunrise painted a more accurate picture of what occurred the night before.
