After missing nearly his full freshman season at Cowley College, Braden Horn contributed at his new home at Kansas City Kansas Community College this past season. As the summer rolls around, Horn is working on consistency through collegiate summer baseball. Horn’s freshman season at Cowley came to a sudden end five weeks into the spring after breaking the hamate bone in his wrist, which needed surgery. He opted to take a medical redshirt for the season.

Getting a surprisingly early start, Derby and the surrounding region dealt with not one, not two but three rounds of severe weather on June 17 that left city staff, first responders and community members dealing with the effects in the days after. Heavy rains and winds in excess of 100 mph created plenty of issues, with the city primarily having to deal with downed trees and power lines — barricading a number of streets until it was safe to pass.

Former Panther Chloe Enslinger’s competitive nature has been evident at every level of softball and has fueled her to get better. After wrapping up a strong career at Barton Community College, Enslinger has found a new home at Friends University. After a strong freshman season, including a second team All-KJCC Region Six selection as an infielder with time at third base and catcher, Enslinger elevated her skills because she knew how to prepare.
