Bishop McNamara 12, Marian Central Catholic 2: After an 8-2 loss at Marian Central Catholic Monday, the Fightin’ Irish (8-4, 1-1 Chicagoland Christian Conference) salvaged a split in their first series of the CCC season. Jacob Lotz was red hot at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Max Rohr doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a pair. Devin Arbour also had a pair of hits, including a double, drove in a pair and scored.

Bradley-Bourbonnais 5, Sandburg 2: The Boilermakers bounced back from a home loss to the Eagles in Tuesday’s SouthWest Suburban Conference opener and took down Sandburg on the road Thursday. Bradley-Bourbonnais improved to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Boilermakers did all their scoring in the third inning, with one run coming on a Ty Alderson double, one on a Liam Martin sac fly and the other three coming on errors. Alderson was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run.

Manteno 12, Peotone 2: The Panthers kept their unbeaten start to the season alive with a five-inning win at home Monday over rival Peotone. Manteno improved to 6-0 on the year with the win while Peotone fell to 2-3. Manteno had six hits in the game, but also worked nine walks and took advantage of six Blue Devil errors to get their dozen runs. Tyler Buehler was 1 for 3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs out of the leadoff spot.

Huntley 7, Bradley-Bourbonnais 5: The Boilermakers took their first loss of the season in the first game of a home doubleheader Friday. They trailed 7-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth but had a comeback push come up short, dropping them to 4-1 on the season. Seven errors helped to sink Bradley-Bourbonnais, with only one of the seven runs allowed by pitcher Lydia Hammond being earned. Abbie Hofbauer went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk, three RBIs and a run.

Bradley-Bourbonnais 5, Benet Academy 1: Three first-inning runs were more than enough support for Boilermakers (4-0) ace Lydia Hammond, who allowed an earned run on six hits and recorded 14 strikeouts in a complete game win. Hammond also singled, doubled and drove in a run. Tristin Woods was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Shannon Lee walked, stole three bases and scored a run.
