Police accuse the man of consistently harassing a Windsor woman about a Pride event in London. The man allegedly appeared in the hospital room of her dying father, where he took a selfie with the sleeping man and sent it to her.

By Adelle Loiselle The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation said housing starts last month were half what they were in May 2022. It released housing start data for May on Thursday morning. According to the CMHC, construction started on 25 single-detached homes last month, compared to 45 in the same month last year. That’s a drop of 44 per cent. For multi-unit housing starts, the number was 44 compared to 94 projects last May, down 53 per cent.

By Adelle Loiselle Ontario’s Fire Marshal said last year was the deadliest year in two decades for fire-related deaths. John Pegg said there were 133 fire-related deaths in 2022. “Within Ontario, we’ve seen a significant rise in fatal fires, and the number of people we have lost in these fires is very concerning,” he said. “Entire families have been lost to fire.”Pegg said the majority of those fires were in homes that did not have a working smoke alarm.

By Adelle Loiselle Unifor is expressing outrage Bell Canada Enterprises Inc. will cut 1,300 positions and close six of its radio stations. Three other radio stations, including CKWW AM580 in Windsor, will be sold. Bell said it could not wait any longer for the federal government’s Online Streaming Act, which will force social media giants like YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+ to pay for Canadian content. It received Royal Assent in April.
