Adilkhan Yerzhanov is a bit like Aki Kaurismäki’s turbulent and crying little cousin, a convalescent Bruno Dumont, or Kervern and Delépine doing math. All of his films run to the rhythm of a hilarious exchange, an ingenious find, or a moonlight every ten minutes.
