EL PASO, Texas - Not one, but two runners from Burges high school will be joining UTEP's cross county and track teams. Friday afternoon, seniors Malin Arnoldussen and Jacob Yeager put pen to paper during a signing ceremony. Arnoldussen was a state qualifier this past season, while Yeager won a medal at the regional track and field meet. Both runners will now go from being teammates in high school to now being teammates for their hometown Miners.

EL PASO, Texas - Students at Lamar Elementary School were surprised with a ball giveaway Thursday morning. It was made possible by a fellow EPISD student, Lane Frank. Frank is a student at Coronado High School and is the host of the podcast, "Schoolyard Sports."It's a podcast Frank started when he was just 12-years-old. He's also a reporter for ABC-7's high school football show, the Borderland Blitz. Lamar students were given either a football, basketball or soccer ball.

EL PASO, Texas - With the pressures to perform on the field or on the court, student athletes can often feel overwhelmed. That takes a toll on their mental health. UTEP is ensuring student athletes have access to mental heath services. Four years ago they partnered with Emergence Health Network to provided student athletes with free counseling. DALLAS, Texas - Conference USA officially announced the football television selections and kick-off times for UTEP on Thursday. The Miners will play five nationally-televised contests in 2025, including three within league action.
