LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - The New Mexico State Aggies fell short in their game against in-state rival New Mexico, 12-10. The Lobos jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning. NMSU rallied down the stretch pulling within two runs in the bottom of the 9th, 12-10, but the Lobos would hold on for the win. The Lobos get the 3 game sweep over the Aggies this season. NMSU's overall record drops to 18-19.

EL PASO, Texas - UTEP Softball delivered a dominant performance Tuesday afternoon at Helen of Troy Field, run-ruling regional rival New Mexico, 10-2, in five innings behind a relentless offensive attack and solid defense. The Miners (16-24) used an 11-hit effort, including home runs from Madi Mendoza and Halle Hogan, to power past the Lobos (20-21-1) in their final non-conference home game of the regular season.

Following 36 holes, the Aggie women’s golf team is slotted in fourth place on the heels of posting a score of 298 (+10) on Tuesday to bring their team total to 588 (+12) for the week. NM State sits 11 strokes back of Jax State, who paces the field with a score of 577 (+1) with one round remaining.

EL PASO, Texas - The UTEP basketball program is in the process of a rebuild, and it's not just because of the players they lost due to the transfer portal. UTEP head coach Joe Golding isn't just looking for new players, but also new assistant coaches. A source confirmed to ABC-7 the departure of three UTEP assistant coaches. Earl Boykins, Mike Roberts and Kevin Kaerwer have all left the program. Boykins had been an assistant at UTEP since Golding's first season with the Miners in 2021.

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - Following a stretch of seven consecutive road games which spanned all three time zones in which the Aggies don’t live in, NM State will return home to host I-25 rival New Mexico. The Tuesday night matchup between the Aggies and Lobos is slated to get underway at 6:05 p.m.This will mark the third of four total meetings between the two sides this season. This will also be the second and final time that the Lobos visit Presley Askew Field in 2025.

EL PASO, Texas - Trenton Brooks hit a high home run over the right field fence in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday to give the El Paso Chihuahuas a 7-6 walk-off win over the Las Vegas Aviators at Southwest University Park. It was El Paso’s first win in the first three games of the series. Brooks’ home run was his team-leading fourth of the season and it was the Chihuahuas’ first walk-off win of the year.

The Sun City Classic will be free for all fans. UTEP will compete against New Mexico, NM State and Rice, along with a group of athletes traveling from Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. UTEP great and 2024 Olympian Niesha Burgher will also compete as an individual.

EL PASO, Texas - UTEP Softball faced a tough challenge on Wednesday afternoon, falling twice to Power 4 opponent Arizona State in a midday doubleheader at Helen of Troy Field. The Sun Devils claimed an 8-0 run-rule win in six innings in the opener, before notching a 5-2 victory in game two. GAME 1: Arizona State 8, UTEP 0 (6 innings) Arizona State’s (28-14) potent offense came out firing in game one, plating five runs in the opening frame to seize early control.
