May 11-Marin Transit is set to test battery-electric vans on its paratransit and shuttle routes for the first time. The board governing the agency has approved adding the first two zero-emission vans to its shuttle fleet at a cost of up to $250,000 for a pilot project to get cleaner vehicles on the road. Marin Transit expects to gain an emissions reduction of 30 tons of carbon dioxide annually through the use of the battery-electric vans.
