Maria Mella won in No. 2 singles against Rochester but the Falcons were tripped up on the second day of their stay in Florida. Rochester 6, Bentley 1Mella battled to a three set victory in the No. 2 singles match against Rochester's Sanjana Karnam. They split the first two sets 6-4 each, with Mella winning the first set. Mella then took the match by winning the third set tiebreak, 10-6.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Bentley fell to Division I Providence College on Sunday afternoon in its first match of the spring season. The Friars compete in the Big East and were already playing their 11th match of the spring season. The Falcons, who last competed on Oct. 13, see their record go to 4-7 on the season. WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team begins its 2024 spring season at NCAA D-I member Providence Sunday, March 3, at 4:15 p.m.Following this weekend's season-opener, the Falcons fly south to Orlando for five matches. There, Bentley takes on Lewis (March 10), St. Thomas Aquinas (March 11), Rochester (March 11), Eckerd (March 12), and Lafayette (March 14). Bentley's lone home match this season is against Saint Anselm, April 13.

Waltham, Mass. – Adriana Hiraldo has been named captain of the women's tennis team, head coach Alex Wong announced. A senior, Hiraldo often played in both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles during the fall season. A marketing major she has been named to the Northeast 10 Academic Honor Roll in six straight semesters, including Academic Distinction honors in the fall. "Adri is everything you want in a leader," said Wong.
