The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team won a high-scoring affair against the Vassar College Brewers on May 5 21–13, advancing to the Liberty League Championship game. It was a markedly different game from the last time the teams matched up, where the Brewers took a 13–12 victory April 8. The Bombers saw stellar performances from virtually the entire starting lineup, including five players scoring a hat trick.

The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team scored double digits for the third game in a row to take down the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds 11–4 in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament on May 2. The game was closer than the last time the teams matched up just three days prior, which the Bombers won 20–6.

Ithaca College announced May 2 that Erienne Roberts, deputy director of athletics and senior woman administrator at Ithaca College, will be starting a new job as the Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Operations at the University of Chicago on June 1. Roberts, who joined the college as an assistant director of athletics in 2018, was promoted to her current role in 2022.

Editor’s Note: This is a guest commentary. The opinions do not necessarily reflect the views of the editorial board. When I first saw that Ithaca College had a sports media program, I was beyond excited. My high school self had no idea what I wanted to do in college up to that point, but when I saw that, my eyes lit up. The idea of covering sports as a career had never really occurred to me until that moment. Four years later, I am left with a torn mind about whether or not I made the right choice.

The Ithaca College softball team won both games the first half of its doubleheader against the Union College Dutchwomen on April 15 on Kostrinsky Field. In a game that was shaping up to be a great pitching duel between the Bombers’ senior pitcher Riley Piromalli and Union sophomore pitcher Melody Kappel, the first competition ultimately resulted in a 8–0 blowout after five innings. In the top of the first inning, Piromalli got into some trouble after walking the leadoff batter.
