    It’s Black History Month, y’all, and I’d like to thank our BAPS ancestors for Black cinema on this day. One of Them Days is the Black Women’s Friday we know we needed for a long time, and it could not have come at a greater moment than this. When the word DEI is being said with a hard R across the country, this film gives the illest side eye and a righteous suck of the teeth. If you haven’t seen the film yet – get to the theaters and pay Black filmmakers their money.

The new Paramount+ original film Section 31 is trying just that. Going somewhere that the Star Trek franchise has not necessarily gone, under-the-radar espionage missions across space…and dimensions. Section 31 is a secret federation development that isn’t about science and exploration.

    Episode seven, “Bright Eyes,” highlighted the all-might power of the X-Men juggernaut Rogue. She spun kicked her revenge journey into high gear, foregoing the funeral of her beloved to find Boliver Trask and stop the mayhem. It’d be super easy to talk about grief and how we all go through it differently. It’d be a cakewalk to address all the easter eggs and the excitement of Mystique babies working through their issues together.

    It is a brand new year, and the best time to look back at one of the iconic moments of 2023: The Beyoncé tour era of 2023. Over the course of five months, Beyoncé embarked on a cosmic stadium tour (yes, a tour whose capacity could only be held by full-on stadiums around the world.) The scale and excitement were exponentially heightened as this was her first tour since 2018 and coming off the of the worldwide COVID-19 quarantine. It is thought that Beyoncé ushered in a renaissance for us all.
