Butler's nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 season is filling out with another known opponent. INDIANAPOLIS — The Butler basketball team will return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to play in the 2025 Indy Classic. The Indy Classic replaced the Crossroads Classic in 2022. Purdue has played in every Indy Classic. Butler played in the Indy Classic for the first time last season, falling to Wisconsin 83-74.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Brebeuf Jesuit put a scare into Roncalli, but the Royals did not back down. With the potential-winning run on first base, senior reliever Daylan Powers struck out Josh Bingman for the final out, sending Roncalli to a 7-5 victory, clinching the 2025 Marion County championship Monday. The win gives Roncalli its first county title since 2018. Powers earned the save, preserving a win for senior starter Nico Amodeo.

Jalen Jackson transferred to Butler from Purdue Fort Wayne for his senior season. Twin sisters Saniya and Nevaeh Jackson entered the transfer portal after their coach at Valparaiso was fired. They also landed at Butler. When Jackson (then Katie Bruening) finished her basketball and volleyball playing careers at Purdue Fort Wayne (then IPFW), she transitioned to coaching at her alma mater.

GREENWOOD — Eric McClurg knew his son, Center Grove outfielder Drake, was going to be a gifted athlete. The bloodlines are obvious. Eric and his brother Adam played football at IU. Eric a safety, Adam a standout linebacker. Eric's wife Tiffaney is a former cheerleader and swimmer at Delta, so sports — especially football — have always been a huge part of the McClurg's lives. Eric watched as Drake rapidly progressed from shooting on a Fisher-Price hoop to taking swings off a batting tee.
