Skies cleared out nicely going into the afternoon. Allowing temperatures to climb to the middle and upper 60s. Tonight, it will be a seasonable evening with temperatures falling into the 50s. We will start tomorrow with temperatures in the lower 50s and a few spots even briefly in the upper 40s. Highs Sunday will be warmer than today. This will be thanks to high pressure continuing to reside in the region to our east. As a result, expect temperatures to climb into the mid 70s.

Sunday morning starts with a few showers moving into and through the area with temperatures in the upper 30s. Rainfall amounts will be quite low with most locations observing 1/10th of an inch or less. Expect mostly cloudy skies during the morning hours. By the afternoon, highs will reach into the mid 50s. These chilly conditions will be the result of light rainfall and thick cloud coverage throughout the day. Conditions will become drier heading into the work week.

Overnight Sunday will see northeast Mississippi remain quiet and free from shower and storm activity with the exception of maybe an isolated rogue shower or storm. Temperatures will fall into the upper 70s by daybreak tomorrow morning. During the pre-dawn hours on Monday morning showers and thunderstorms will be pushing into and through portions of the Tennessee Valley. A few of these storms could move in as strong or even severe thunderstorms.

A few scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms will remain possible into the first half of Sunday evening, however, as we enter the overnight period most of the storms should begin to taper off. We will be continuing to experience temperatures in the upper 70s throughout the overnight period. Skies will remain partly cloudy with some clearing observed in some locations.

Once again The "feels like" temperatures reached from 105-115° during the course of Saturday afternoon. A few areas did see the development of scattered thunderstorms that provided some relief from the heat. Most of the area, however, did not see storms to break the excessive heat warning. Saturday evening storms will dissapate and leave us with quiet conditions. There will be partly cloudy skies going into the overnight.

As we transition into your Saturday overnight, we are tracking the lingering potential that a few strong to severe thunderstorms could develop as another wave of energy pushes in from the northwest during the wee-hours of Sunday morning. The severe thunderstorm watch that was in place earlier Saturday, is no longer in effect. If storms do develop overnight, a few of these storms may be capable of producing heavy rainfall and a few strong potentially damaging wind gusts.

As we transition into your Saturday evening, we are tracking the development of strong to severe thunderstorms to our northwest. A few counties in northwest Mississippi outside of our coverage area have been included in a severe thunderstorm watch effective until 9pm tonight. A few of these storms may be capable of producing heavy rainfall and a few strong potentially damaging wind gusts.
