Video sent to Storyful by Malcolm Speichinger shows just how a peaceful Sunday by McCook Lake turned into a domestic disaster as deep floodwaters inundated his street in a matter of minutes.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has given chilling details about the alleged murder of Elvia Espinoza, a 46-year-old elementary school teacher, in a stabbing attack on April 6, for which he said her son, Emmanuel Espinoza, 21, had confessed. Judd said Emmanuel Espinoza was a pre-med student at the University of Florida who had been described as being a “genius”, and “remarkably brilliant”. He said Espinoza told detectives he’d “been angry at” and “not liked his mother for years”.
