1 Introduction Significant increases in the production capacity for therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells have been made in part through improved workflows for the generation, selection, and isolation of high-producing cell lines containing mAb genes randomly integrated into the CHO genome, with the best performing systems now reaching 3–8 g/L consistently and reports of some processes reaching up to 10 g/L [1, 2].
