I was laid off today by @MilitaryTimes while on military leave. Five editorial colleagues are gone as well. According to the company lawyer, our positions are eliminated. I — and @SightlineUnion — will have much more to say later. But I want to say a few things now.

After a 3.5hr flight, landed 45mins ago and still on an @AUStinAirport tarmac waiting for broken down equipment in the path to the gate to be moved. Admittedly, don’t get how it all works, but I guess backing up and pulling into another gate is not an option. Longest day ever…
